Hey guys I'm looking for a sump pump for my 125, shooting for a turn over rate of 7-10x
Stock is gonna be 2 fish a gg and Azul bass (in temp holding tanks).
Head height will be about 5-6;ft, amd wanna go submerged pump
As I'm looking on Amazon I'm seeing so many brand and options. When I search the fourm about pumps I find older threads. Anyone have any current info on the best pumps to buy on Amazon.
Hard to trust reviews it seems Any help or links is appreciated

Because a 125 would only be considered a temporary grow out tank for the two individual species, getting a pump that is over kill for that size tank right away would be advised.
Something on the order of a pump that would be adequate for minimum 300 gal tank, because the 125 will only work for about a year, if both fish start out rather small.

Thank you for your reply
this is knowledge I have already as I've kept many fish over the yrs (and id still disgree slightly with your statement but thats for another thread), unfortunately you've offer no help or value to the current topic (surprising for a mod), lets try to stay focused on the topics, vs shaming for inappropriate tank size. no where did I mention current fish size or long term plans.
Simply asking what brand of pumps on Amazon most guys are using, having good or bad experiences.
There is a huge variety and to be honest they all seem the same just with different names, has anyone had better luck with haggar or jebo pump.
These are the answers I'm hoping to get.
Thank you

To be brutally honest with you, I'm afraid to offer an opinion, or any advice, for fear of being lambasted!! I found the manner of your reply to Duanes advice intolerably rude, I had to read it twice, I couldn't believe what I was reading!

Trust me, you'll get nowhere on this forum with a poor attitude like that!

Disagree,
Did he offer any help to My thread question ?

No he offered his opnion on a Unrelated subject,
Im very aware of stocking/ fish requirements and growth if I wanted to discuss that I would start a thread on that subject and we can bang heads all day, but that's not what I asked.
This thread is already getting off topic.
You wonder why this site has fissled out over the years, it's because of answers like this, set your egos aside.

Simple question asked.

Sorry you seems thin skinned if that's brutal that's life. Like I said if this is a fourm let's stick to topic

dunaes advice to run a 3000 gph pump on a 125, I don't even think my sump will overflow at a rate to feed a 3000 gph pump

I'm looking for preferred brands
Thx

Currently running a Hygger 1350 DC on a 140g ish tank. The first Hygger was an open box and I returned it because it was missing parts, primarily the oring for the impeller cover. I have only had the replacement for a couple months maybe but so far so good. 8B45A902-F42A-43BF-80CF-C56CD8DDE663.jpegD57A8FF5-691D-4953-96AC-A61E6EE5C705.jpeg

You are totally off base. People here are forgiving and helpful. Perhaps you are having a bad day and this angered you despite not attempting to do that at all? It happens. No hard feelings from most everybody here.
Otherwise, seek elsewhere...
This site has "fissled" ?

I still disgree, if im off base then so was his response.
My response was a honest response to his, not gonna beat around the bush and sugar coat. Thought we are all adults and
I understand it maybe taken harshly to some individuals but id expect the same if i came onto a thread and went off topic.
And I'd of said it the same way if we were having a real conversation in person, he was off topic. As a mod I'd expect a higher standard, but it just seems like you guys just wanna defend him and his off topic response. For the record,
Duanes is very knowledgeable, and i respect him as a member.

*Let's stay on thread topic *

Fissled out, as in not active, not many new users or info, lots of dated stuff, people leaving sit, no merchandise.
most active area I see is the marketplace or same 10- 15 users posting.
I understand my account is newer, but that does not mean I haven't been aware of the site for 10+ yrs or am a novice.

OK
I use a Siccce pump in the sump of my 180 gal
IMG_2814.jpeg
I find it to be very quiet, and I like that it is set up to be either hard plumbed with PVC, or used with a hose.
It is fairly energy efficient, and doesn't;t put out a lot of heat.
Below is a video of it running on my 180.
Flow
I have also used Mag Drive pumps, which I found to be noisy and put out a lot of extra heat.
And have used Laguuna that were less noisy and worked well
