Sorry about all my lighting threads I'm just trying to figure this out and you guys are being really helpful so I want to take advantage of the help while I've got it. Im looking at the 72" fixture with both of them. I really like this fixture by aquaticlife http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3733+21460&pcatid=21460
But I don't know how reliable it is. So here's the other one I'm looking at, which would be better? This one is a current nova extreme and is slightly higher wattage http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3733+18700&pcatid=18700
Any thoughts? Thnx in advance!

If you're worried about costs, go for these instead.

Buy 4 units, then 4 39w bulbs, you'll be up and running for under $300 with just reflectors to buy for them - ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/36-Single-L...075?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item518e5f5bd3 )

If you feel you need a bit more light for your corals or have a change of heart and want LPS or something then you can add another line of T5's.

Hope that helps.

That looks like a great deal! It would be a perfect light for me to start with, so long as it would be able to hold up for a reef tank. It looks like its only 4 tubes and my question on it is can I still set it up like the aquaticlife with the high power 420nm actinics and 10000k tubes?

Its not a T5 light so the bulb options are limited, I have only ever seen 4 types of power compact bulbs. Daylight, actinic, purple and 50/50 purple and actinic.

The light looks like it comes with 2x 96w 12k daylight bulbs and 2x 96w blue actinic bulbs and 12 led moonlights.

There add is kind of confusing as the description does not match the features on the listing lol. I asked them a question about the bulbs and this is the reply.

Hello Carl,
I have looked into this for you and we have figured out that each set of bulbs equals 96W and there are four sets. Sorry for the confusion. Please let me know if you need any further information. Have a great day!

Best Regards,
Janae
