Hi All,
I have a female Managuense, ~8 years old, ~ 11 inches long and a common Plecostomus same age, ~ 14" long in a 29 gallon tank! I know, shouldn't do that, but I'm always a sucker for a cichlid which usually takes over a tank, as happened here. I'm either going to give them up and go back to a community tank (hah!) or finally upgrade to a larger tank, either a 75 gallon (48x18x21, blue tape in pic) or a 93 gallon cube (30x30x24). My question is this; does the dimension of a tank matter for the fish? I know they are both adult and any change in size would be good, but does a longer tank (75) have benefits over a square tank (93 cube)?
Thanks,
-John
