I have a 75g now with a 12" Fire Eel in it with some community fish. I know that Fire Eels can get very large, but if I was willing to dedicate the tank solely to the eel if he actually grew to great enough length, would a 75 be alright?

max size in a tank is usually just under 2 feet. most sights say 20 inches but the really old ones can be a few inches bigger. then again... some guy on youtube has a 30 inch (or so it is listed as 30").

so i guess its really just, is a 20 inch eel too big for a 75? it seems you could have one and a few other smaller fish...

i have a 17" fire eel they get up to about 36". And you will have to upgrade your tank.

ik only know your answer in meters.
i think dat you must have at least an aqua 1 meter long , and be shure that your aqua must be closed ferry good ,no holes above the water in your aqua .
otherwise your eel shall escape when he/she wants a partner ....
thats a basic instinct of this animal.

good luck with your great fish.
