In Your experiences what is the best fish for targets that doesn't get too large and won't be a problem for an EBJD that i am planning on introducing into my JD tank eventually. They will be the only two in there plus the target(s).

Might want to post the size of the tank, would help a little in making choices available. Silver Dollars are going to come to mind, but that also depends on the size of the tank.

its a 55, but like I said those will be the only two fish plus the target fish, also i don't really like silver dollars (food hogs, too big, ect.)

you're talking about target fish? like therpon jarbua? they're brackish first of all

I think he's talking about dither fish. Mollies work well as dithers for my JD.

I have never used target fish and have had pretty good success of fish not beating on each other.

The size of the tank is going to severely limit your options. Even giant danios and buenos aires tetras can get cornered in a smaller tank and killed. Best bet is to either think of a larger tanks (especially if you want both JD's to reach their full potential), or just keep them in there by themselves.
