Best time to find baby LMB

I was wondering when was the best time to find young LMB around 3"-4" in southern new jersey? I know spawning starts soon if not already but dont know when the best time would be to start searching. Also, how would I go about getting them without injury? Thanks in advance!!

Check with state laws regarding legal methods of obtaining these. Game fish are in general regulated species with specific size limits and legal capture methods...

may/june/july, i have never had a problem with worm n bobber, but you can try a net or trap.

I don't think the bass are spawning yet that far north. They are not spawning in southern Tennessee yet. I would say another 3 to 4 weeks before they spawn there.

In CT at least, we get 'em in minnow traps between 2" and 4" around August mostly... I always let them go.

you have to wait untill season opens...dont try and catch them while spawning is still going. and just a tiny hook and a worm, puts a small hole in their lip and thats about it

most likly you missed the spawn me and my friend caught 19 spawning and post spawn bass today. I got to ponds behind my house and they were spawning in them a few weeks ago. Plus i live in Michigan.
