Just bought a new black belt cichlid and was wondering what all of you all feed yours I've read they like a veg based diet just wanting to know what would be the best food for him

I use hikari cichlid excel in my mbuna tank. Nls has one coming out soon but it only comes in 1mm.

There's no need to feed a veg based food, as long as there is aquatic plant matter in the formula your BB will do well. As an example, the following fish was a rescue/save that was grown out on regular NLS pellets. (that include algae meal, spirulina, etc)

RD that is one nice BB hope mine colors out like that. But now am having a problem getting mine to eat pellets not sure what lfs feed him but since I have had him only thing I have been able to get him to eat is cichlid flakes should I starve him into eating or continue to offer both
