Title kind of says it all. I'm going to Discus Hans to purchase some stendker , Early may of this year. Im looking to add 10 of his 3 " discus to my 180. I am running two fluval fx 6 with a good amount of bio media in each canister. My stock list so far is 1x4" BN pleco , 2x Corydoras' Plateatus 2.5" , 5xCorydoras Julii 3" , 17xCardinal Tetras 1" ,8x1.5" Rummynose Tetra, 6xBleeding Heart tetra.
2xZebra Danio 1" .

The reason I am adding them all at once is because I am driving from Toronto and don't really have the option to add 2 a week as some people suggest. Any thoughts or experiences regarding large amount of fish at once. ?

that shouldnt be a problem since the tank is already established
and filled with bacteria. i used to add 7+ discus at a time. just
keep an eye daily on water parameters for a week or 2 to make
sure you dont have a mini cycle but i dont see it being a problem
since the tank is already established.

+1. If ammonia or nitrite starts appearing just get ready to do substantial(40%+) and more frequent water changes until bb catches up to bioload.

Personally I would have some Seachem Stability and/or some of Dr. Tim's bacteria on hand. Adding ten 3" discus, plus the amount of food required to support the growth of ten juvie discus, and I would be concerned about a hiccup in the bio filtration/cycle of the tank. This tank is still in its infancy, and not exactly what I would consider established.

Man your posting is hard for me to see!! I'm in a similar situation. I'm only adding seven 3" Discus to a brand new tank. The tank has only been cycling since last Saturday and I'm picking them up this Saturday. Also going for a drive to get them. I figured out after gas, I'm not only not saving much money at all if any, but putting the fish through yet another transit! :/
I shoulda bought straight from the breeder:( That bumms me out, to the point I damn near kicked my tank over yesterday. Good luck man, can't wait to see them :)

Only a week the tank has been cycling ? that's a bit of a risk IMO , by that point nitrites should be through the roof . Good luck lol.
