Best Way to Buy a Car!?

I need to replace my current vehicle...but dont have alot of cash laying around at the moment. Whats the best way to purchase a new one? I work in sales and know that just walking into the dealership and signing on the line is not the cheapest way to go.

Anyway to buy direct for the manufacturer? Online?

I'd never buy from a stealership unless you are talking a brand new car. There are too many good deals from private owners in money trouble right now.

so you would recommend autotrader or carsoup or some other car classifieds?

I do Craigslist! Although the car I bought was a rip of in the mid term. A 1985 VW GTI for 1400. Mid condition.

a month later....

A 3000 dollar car not moving. That was over a year ago. It still is sitting in my driveway. What an eye sore.

Craigslist or any thing like it. Just look over the car well and take your time.

go to a local grocery store and look for where they have the newspapers. they usually sell a whole booklet of cars being sold by private owners...
