ri
any sugestion in cleaning out a tank before set up.
some one told me dish soap but other ppl told me not to use soap at all

also is it true if the tank had a reptile in it then u can put fish in it

I just got done cleaning my used/new 240g and I used distilled white vinegar. Yes it sinks but tank looks awesome and you don't have to worry about it. Just make sure you do it outside cause of the smell or if inside with a fan.

You have to rinse the tank really really really really well if it had any reptiles any it. It may have had some chemical residue from it's former occupant stay i.e. mite spray. I use vinegar, water, razor and an algae scrubber. Absolutely no soaps, cleaners, or disinfectants!

A good mixture of vinegar with water along with a scrub pad and alot of elbow grease. If you decide to use a razor just be very careful around the silicone........

( salt water tank cleaning)

Well I have heard of some people cleaning out their quarantine tanks with Cholrine and fresh water...... scrub down........fresh water rinse again.....and then let the system run open again (salt water) for at least 24 hours ( 10 gal. tanks)
