Okay, here is the deal. I found a 125 for free with one end broke out. I instantly had visions of a plywood tank using one of the remaining sides. I have never done a plywood tank but reading about them they seem right up my alley. The thing is I have never cut apart a tank this big. What is the best way to cut apart this tank? The sides are so tight I can't even get a razor blade to start into it. I have been putting pressure out to try and open up the seam a little to start the blade, but that isn't working either.
Thanks

If there isn't enough room to get a piece of guitar string or a razor blade, you could try pushing apart the front and back panel which should give enough room to instert the blade. I did this with an oversized 2x4. Its a little gut wrenching, but it does work.

I use 'Naphtha' to clean engine parts, if they have silicone on them it softens it and bubbles up, like stripper on paint. You can buy it at any hardware store.
It's not extremely volatile or dangerous to handle and has a slow evaporation rate.
It will dry out your skin so keep it keep it off your hands.
It eats up silicone rubber gloves pretty quick.
It's available in quarts and gallons, about $15. for a gallon.

You would need to tilt the tank and pour some of it in the seam and let it soak. Use a paint brush to move it around to keep the seem wet.
This will work faster if you remove some of the silicone first.

**Do not use this stuff if you plan to do a simple reseal, as this will ruin all the silicone in the tank.**
