i was wondering the best way to diffuse DIY co2 for my 20 long.also do you think two 2L DIY co2 bottles will be overkill? It will have a 65watt pc, and im planing to carpet it and have tall grass(maybe vals) in the back with some rock formation mid ground(amano ish kind of tank)

DiY stops at the making he unit part. The co2 isn't being made by you, it is a reaction being done by the yeast. Personally I'd run 4 2L bottles on a 20L.

you would find it easier and cheap in the long run to build a proper system . the most effective way to diffuse co2 is to build a diffuser google diy co2 diffuser and you should find plenty of results to get you started.

u could definatly make it work...u just need alot of bottles like wyldfya said...in my opinion diy stops at a certain point and just isnt practical...look into a diy reactor..many of us here run then with our canisters and have great results...what type of filtration?? that plays another part in co2...too much surface aggitation and all ur doing is wasting co2...i learned this the hard way...

well right now a top fin 30 but its turned down plus i got a ceramic air stone in the intake reducing flow.i keep the water up so there is a small amount of surface movement, not much at all....looking at an emheim 2215 but im saving that question till i get the money for a canister.

All HOB filters create surface agitation, its part of their process in filtering. Reaction co2 will not gain much ground against it.

I am using an Aqua Medic Reactor 500 with a two liter bottle CO2 generator and it seems to work very well.
ya i was looking at doing something like that....i have 3 2L with wood diffusers on my 20L.I have had crazy growth in a month in a half with just that
