everytime i attempt to gravel vac my tank and change the water my jardini goes crazy and swims from end to end bashing himself real hard

last time it was a few scales this time his lip is busted and has skin hanging ahhh what do i do?!?

imma put stress coat / zyme/ and stability + salt and turn the temp up a little any other advice?

fa sho cause my homie works at the lfs and always tell me to put stability daily cause my jardini is never calm but alwys jumpy and hurting himself

Your homie's a moron then. Do you even know what stability does? It's bottled beneficial bacteria that helps you establish your nitrogen cycle. It has absolutely nothing to do with injuries or stress from physical trauma... Why on earth would you even add something to your tank without reading what it is...

:iagree: sometimes advice is not always good advice. when in doubt of something, research to no end. do not always take the first answer and "run" with it.

Once your tank is cycled, there's really no need for stability.

Regarding the WC piece, try leaving the syphon in without moving it. Let the aro inspect it and see it's not going to hurt him. My aro's actually love the siphon because they know a water change is coming. It's all about positive reinforcement.

How big is the tank that your jardini is in? Try to just work on one half of the tank at a time. Let the jar stay in the other half of the tank. I can be hard I know, at one time I had two rather large silvers in a 180g. Needless to say, water changes were always an adventure.
