i want to put a couple of tanks at floor level but it will make water changes dificult as all the drains are at the same level or higher ( sink , toilet etc ) so im wondering how others do it or if there are any sugestions to aid water changes
or if u dont want to waste $$$ on pumps get some buckets and a tube and suck the end of the tube (when the other end is in the tank water) and lead the ending tube into the bucket and then go dump the water out in the garden. and keep repeating
Suck on the end of the tube?!?
Submerge the tube to fill it with water, plug the end you take out, and release it above the bucket. Why would you want a mouthful of tank water?
Any chance you have a basement or a floor drain? Running a hose outside works well too.
Otherwise, like JoeM said, get a pump.
Magdrive (danner) pumps are amazing at draining tanks. Unless you have a 1" or so I'd hose, draining tank from the floor is a PITA and waist of time. You may go down that path at first but I am sure in no time you'll come to the pump darkside
I've got a thirty gallon long on the floor in my bedroom on the second story. In the summer its a PITA. I use a hose and bucket sihpon and the have to curl the hose up in the bottom of the buckets before the water starts to flow. Doesnt flow very fast or for very long. In the winter when the air conditoner isn't in the window I hang the hose out the window much faster thanks to gravity. Like others have said a pump is going to be your best friend.
