I been out the hobby for a few years and I gave one of my tanks including the acrylic wet dry to a family member. Turns out he never set up the tank or wet/dry and didnt make sure it was totally dried out so there are a few mold spots sticking to the acrylic inside. Well I got the tank and filter back and the wetdry has a hard cover where the first section is totally covered and sealed off where i cant just srcub the mold spots.

this isn't the exact desing but its very similar to this but without the convenient access doors

Any suggestions on how i can remove the mold spots while not leaving anything harmful behind so that I can use the wet/dry again?

Bleach/water solution.
Slosh it around or fill to the brim. Let it be for awhile and then rinse it out.
Let it air out or run some tap water laced with Prime(or another).
All the mold should die off.

plain old soap and water works great to remove mold and you wont have to smell any harsh chemicals that way

thanks for the suggestions guys. i'll try something less harmful like vinegar just beacuse im worried about some bleach being left over and messing with my water quality. i guess with prime it will get rid of any left over bleach right? i'll try vinegar first and if it doesnt' work i'll go with the bleach.

Vinegar is really good for hard water stains and salads.
For mold, not so good.
Any residual from a bleach bath will "air" out in a few days.
Yes, Prime will neutralize any chlorine residue.
