Going to be getting some heaters for my 680g pond so the tropicals can move in... what is the best way to heat this? Lots of small heaters, or two or three large ones? There's going to be at least 2 on the setup so if one breaks another is still good.

And what's the minimum wattage I can get away with? Temperature in the basement is around 60-65 this time of year.

How is the pond built/insulated?

Will the pond be at all covered? As an uncovered pond will evaporate / loose heat faster than a covered pond.

Will you be running a dehumidifier in the room or sealing the room and allowing it to be tropical? I was able to heat my entire garage fishroom (Char, NC winters) with 2 dehumidifiers (no heaters in tanks).

Steal electricity from the grid or lots of cash.
Insulation would help too.

It's a pool, will be putting insulation on the bottom and around the sides, and it won't be covered. Dunno about the dehumidifiers, we have 2 but they aren't running right now, do they really generate that much heat?
