behind my iMac.... Southampton UK.
Right i got my work cut out for me tomorrow.... 400 mile drive with two pickups, one RTG and one Green.... the tank currently holds one black and one RTG... i also want to try my silver from he other holding tank and see if hell work after the addition of the other asains? but what order do i add the new aros, im thinking acclimatise them simultaneously then quickly as possible add the rtg followed by the green then the silver? does the make sense? oh man its gona be a hectic day!:nilly:

I wouldn't add them so close. I have to give time for the bb to catch up to the addition of fish. After adding all three, you will without a doubt experience a mini cycle. I would add the green last so he doesn't have any possibility of establishing a large territory. Good luck.

tank wont cycle, its well over stocked and over fillered still.... im gona remove a nearly equal bio-load as i add: im removing 3x IT's, a gt, a rt, 3-4 plecs....

the black is the tank boss and does't like the silver hence the dilemma id be very surprised if any of the new aro's make a successful power struggle too.... we are talking mean when pushed my black is a true monster...

Thats good. I would add the green last because he is most territorial. The silver and the RTG shouldn't matter which order they are added. Nice pickups btw.

Edit: watch carefully as there should be a power struggle early on. I have very rarely seen these fights amount to more than a few frayed fins.

my blacks devious with the silver, yes i agree if one of the asians makes a power struggle its gona come soon after its addition but from previous experience it could take two days for the black to decided he is fed up of the silvers presence....

i would take all the aros out of their tanks before you go to pick up the new aros

leave them in polyboxes at home then when you get home with the new aros let the new aros in the tank 1st try to move stuff around a bit in the tank as well

the aros you have at home would have been in the polyboxes for 10hrs when you get home so wont be intrested in fighting with any new comer when you put them back in

good luck

i thought about that too.... its a good idea... i just no what justins old rtg is like in a box, and if my Labrador heres it going nuts in a box she most likely open the door(shes good at that) and investigate..... which could have nasty consequences obviously....

say T1, i no your not fond of them but have you seen any G2's forsale recently around 12-14"?

:D the g2 that cane was selling i already brought to make up the numbers in my com i sold it after 2 weeks to buy the chilli red :D

i sold it for £200 didnt like it i dont know why i brought it in the 1st place :D

what my freind did when he added aros was get some big plan widow boxes then put them over the aros already in the tank for a few hours with rocks on the top to hold them down put the new aros in then let the old aros out after a few hours it worked well

Nice suggestion, ill try swing through a garden center on way back quick and see what i can rustle, if not of if journey takes a bit long then il go with the poly box idea only remove the existing aro's once im home(so i can stop the dog from doing any damage!), while the new guys are acclimatising, mix the tank bog wood layout about a bit.. then replace then in a couple of hours....
