Best way to lay rock?

Hi,

Doing my first cichlid tank, and have been recommended mbunas. I need to put the rock pile down, but have no eggcrate or anything like that. Where can I get some from in the UK? If I can't get any, whats the best way of doing it? Should I put the rocks down first (straight on to the glass), then put the sand all around it, so if they dig, they won't move?

Don't bother with the egg crate. Unnecessary. The bottom of the tank is tempered glass. Throw in some sand, add some rocks, start piling and enjoy...
