I am going to be moving my knife tank in the next few days and was wondering what the best way to move my CK would be. He is about 17" and beefy. Last time I moved him I thought it was tought, but now he is twice that size. Since he is a scaleless fish is there any certain type of net I should use? Could I use a trout net that I have or would the material hurt him?
Here is the type of net in question:

There are various methods to move monster fish. My favorite one is to drain the tank and then guide the fish into a big pillow case. I find it less stressful than the net method, for both me and my fish.

Good Luck!

hmmm, a pillow case eh. When I drained my piranha tank to move them I lowered it to about 5 inches of water and then dunked a large plastic tupper-wair type thing in to suck them in but they wouldnt have any of that.
How would I keep the pillow case open while in the water?

ummm just hold it open with your hands???

I also find that the darkness of the pillow case tends to relax the fish more rather than the brightside of using a net.

My knife tends to not like my hands in the tank, thats why I asked. hmmmm.

u can just net them man. knifefish r pretty hardcore they will get over the stress in less than a day. mine r over 3 feet and can still be netted. but just be careful cause they jump....HIGH
