Hi I have about 200lb of caribsea aquarium sand I have already rinse it even though the bag is already prewash. The sand looks very clean but I'm not too sure the best way to put the sand in my 175gallon as I have fish in there now... Is there a method of putting the sand in while the fish are still in there that will not disturb them?? thanks for the help

I just put it in a bucket then pour it in as close to the bottom as possible, make sure you turn off your filters until all the sand settles as it messes with the impellers.

well the tank is set up with fish, so I think the bucket might not be a good idea however that pillow case trick sounds interesting :) anymore people?

This worked for me. Get a 1.5" PVC tube or larger about the height of your tank. Pour the sand through this tube. the sand will come out of the other end of the tube which is already at the bottom of the tank. This way you will not get sand flying all over the place and you can direct the sand wherever you want to put the sand in the tank.

i used a small plastic container and take a few pounds at a time, then lower it ALL THE WAY to the bottom of the tank and dump it out slowly on where you want it to be. This will cause less cloudy in the water.

i just use any type of container i can find thats non-toxic and just load the sand up and then lower it to the bottom of the tank and pour...
