Whats the best way you've found to put size on your fry? Do you leave them with the parents and if so until when? Just curious, i've had success both ways however i've seen peoples fry grow at a much more rapid rate then my own. Basically I do 50% wc every other day and feed nls fry growth formula as often as possible. Right now i'm experimenting with X-treme's products and I must say i'm impressed. Up until now i've been a die hard NLS supporter, I still am, however in a side by side test the fry on X-treme are 25% larger then the ones on NLS everything else is the same just different feeds. We'll see!!! In the past I've tried cyclopeez I wasn't to impressed though lets hear your experiences.

I Feed my small fry hikari first bites. Then move them to nls grow.

(depending on the species...I assume this would work for most)

Increase temp to 80-82F. Add a bubbler if you don't have one. Feed small amounts, but frequently. Watch parameters and increase water changes to daily if needed...keep water pristine.

My local LFS takes EXCELLENT care of his livestock. But I still get close to 2:1 growth rate on fry and juvies when I can dedicate more time to a single tank.

Also, keep in mind that it will be species dependent. For example, my Malandia fry are now 3 months old and only 1-1/2". My Lab fry are 3 weeks old and some are pushing 3/4"-1".

Take care...

You have been given good advice but I feed mine artimea Brine shrimp naupali. I also feed them pulverized flake food. But clean water is essential.

Newly hatched BBS, the yolk sac they carry is the reason they are such a great fry food as it is the perfect balance of fats etc specifically for fast growth.

when I do breed.. I go oldschool... boiled egg yolk pulverized and mixed in about 50/50 ratio with whatever food I'm feeding the parents (flake/pellet/frozen ect) And I've learned just from growing out fish.. variety is really key to getting max growth w/ max health. and water changes! lots and lots of water changes!

I fed my dovii fry cultured Microworms and egg yoke at free swim 6 times a day. At week 3 they were 1/2" size by week 4 they were 3/4". At that size they were now eating chopped blackworms. At week 5 they were 1" eating whole blackworms. By week 6 the bigger ones were 1.5" at week 7 they were 1.75", week 8 they were 2".

I've been feeding my Festae fry (I only have 1) .5 mm pellets from Xtreme (4 pellets, 4 times a day. I feed it 1 pellet at a time to reduce waste) with thawed frozen blood worms and frozen brine shrimp with spirulina once a week (just a couple of each at a time). I also do 30% water changes every other day and in the month I've had this fish it has gone from about a half an inch to roughly an inch and a quarter. I'd say BBS the first couple weeks with some powderized food and then move to the .5" pellets from Xtreme until they hit a certain size and move them on to NLS. That's my opinion.
