best way to silicone baffles

whats the best way to silicone your baffles into the sump ?

I have glass tank and glass baffles thanks.

i did it just by eyeing it up.. i used to pieces of wood to keep the glass upright.. it works, and cleaned up ok after alot of time with a razor..

if i could redo, i would use blue tape as a guide.. lets say your using 1/4inch glass.. measure out 1.75inch gap between to pieces of blue tape.. apply silicone either by hand or with agun, and if you handle it with your hands make sure your finger is wet.. lay it on thick, and after a hour remove the blue tape.. it will leave yea with clean lines for sure.

1.75 inch gap per .25 inch thickness ? seem's like a lot.

1.75 total between the blue tape.. about .75 on each side

i would total 3/4" width of gap between 2 blue tape.. in order to hold the glass in suspense i see pros uses straws on 4 sides to hold it in suspense then when silicon dried remove straws then reseal it with silicon where straws was removed.
