Alrighty, I only have one male Beta in a ten gallon tank. Lately I have seen what looks like a bubble nest under one of the leafs of an Amazon sword plant. I was just wondering if it is what I think it is and if he is looking to mate?

Yep. Get him a female.

It means hes in good health and happy with his surroundings. If you have 100 or so small tanks or jars to keep the fry in once they start fighting go ahead and get a female

Why the hundred jars? All betta fry that are bron and kept togeather wil not fight. Even into the adult stages. I have 25 to 30 males and females 6 months old still living in the same 20g tank they've been in scents brith. fry that stay togeather live togeather in peace.

Been there done that. I found that when mine got to be 7 to 8 weeks from free swimming they all started nipping each others fins. I had to seperate them, I tried leaving them a couple times but they would eventually nip away each others fins until one or the other would die. So had no choice but to seperate them at 7 to 8 weeks of age.
