i tried to breed my halfmoons but the female absolutely refused, even though she appeared "ready"

I have a betta fetish too. So I found this website called bettaed.com that's where I get most of my info and theres a guy named ikhan betta on mfk he knows alot about betta breeding too.
Yes horizontal barring is essential. I will need to know more info about how you tried. What size tank, what type of filtration was in it, substrate?(should be none in a betta breeding tank)
There is afew other signs for females as it's not just the strips. There is also a egg tube that hangs down from the anual area. It looks like a white tube this will let you know she has eggs as well.

I've been breeding betta for a yr now. I have 15 crown tail breeding at this time with 9frys now. I have 12 breeding Vail tails with 4frys. I have 6 half moon plakats breeding now with 6frys. If I can be of help let me know.
I'm also breeding Apistogrammas with 4 frys of cockatoo Orange flash at this time. Breeding is my thing.

I breed too. WHere do you get stock? Are you an IBC member? and have you heard of bettatalk.com? And why breed veils? lol
I just started breeding vail tails for a lfs here that couldn't get the stock they wanted because they where new to the buisness. I afford to sell them my stock and they agreed to buy all I could send them. Will a yrs gone by and they have lived up to there end. SO about 10months ago I starteed in with HM's and CT's. Didn't have much luck at frist but here the last 5 months it's taking off. I just sold my frist fry of CT's around december.
I have now 25 x CT,25 HM,20 VT and have just gotten 4p's of macrostoma { don't ask I want tell } plus 12 betta falx from sumatra.
I have just gotten my frist spaw from one of my mouth breeders last week. Those are so cool to whatch. I have never even thought about becoming a menber of the IBC and no I havn't heard of bettatalk.com whats it like?
I got my frist stock from a buddie of mine who travels to Indonesia and stays in Barito and Mahakam alot. he brought me my frist stock and they where all wild as ------ . I had to really work to get them to breed. I finally got them to breed with a tame import from a lfs thn I took them throw a mess of tame females then breed them to younger lfs stock males. So 3/4 of my stock all comes from wild stock.
