Betadine Use?

I know Betadine is commonly used as a antiseptic but I've recently heard concerns over toxicity issues, especially regarding eyes and gills. Is it best used diluted or not at all? Is there a better substitute and do you guys have any tips in regard to applications? Thanks

I use it diluted to a light brown color. If not diluted it can definitely hurt the eyes and gills.

If you were to splash a little undiluted betadine(10%) into eye but were to place fish immediately back into water; would they likely suffer any permanent damage?

just watch for an ulcer to occur. If it happens it will most likely heal just fine
