Hey, I have a question. I was wondering if this would work for the male bettas?

The water flows through the mesh and go into a filter.

Also, what should I do with the babies?

yea it would work, ive seen a similar setup in a pet shop. would you put a female in each cage?

well you cant keep any others bettas in when there are eggs unless you have a jumbo setup. Also you would need to keep the tank covered to keep warm air in for the fry. Also avoid current it destroys the nests, and also the fry are not very good swimmers

You don't need seperate cages in the growout tank. The babies will live together peacefully enough if you raise them all together. Once you do seperate them, you can't put them together again though or they will fight to the death. I gave one of my batches to my good friend. She kept them all in a 40g tank their whole lives, approx. 3-4 yrs.. There was never more than minor squabbles. They amazed her guests when they realized they were looking at a whole tank full of Bettas!

Well really no point to cage the males right away just put in enough plants and they stay together just fine
