well since i successfully spawned couple pairs of convicts...i guess now im giving betta breeding a whirl..

any tips...i got my male in a tank with the female in a plastic cup with some black water extract

anything i needa look out for your comments and suggestions please

I would suggest looking up online some articles about breeding them since it is much more complicated than convicts are. You need about a 10 gallon heated to about 82 degrees with the water level dropped to 6" or so. You also need a spawning site for the male to make his bubble nest. And you also need to feed high protein food, and possibly even separate the two for a few days prior. Good Luck!

Breeding bettas is alot harder than you think. You can just throw them in together without some preparation.............

**UPDATE**

i actually got them in a 20g tank , temp set at 84 degrees, little bit of black water extract,

this is actually day 3 with them in the 20g tank, on and off i let the female out her container dont dont touch each other at all just flaring ,short burst chasing, then i seperate them i do this 3-4 times a day.

there diet is frozen brine shrimp, frozen blood worms

male is slowly but surely building this nest

hope for the best in the next week or so
