So I got a triple compartment tank with two males and a female. Almost instant bubble nests. I removed a divider for a few hours, but didn't see anything. I moved the tank a bit today and I seen eggs fall and be retrieved by the male. Should I remove the other male and female for now? The dividers have small holes I'm concerned with. I have extra tanks and mason jars to raise the fry, I plan on keeping a few to breed and the rest will be used as feeders. I'll post the male and female.

If the male has chased away the female, remove her...along with the other male. The hard part is still to come. Feeding the tiny fry, if they make it to the swimming stage. Be sure to remove the father once they're at this stage. Feeding them will be a chore. Those live plants will generate infusoria...just the thing the fry need to feed off during their first stage of life. Look into it, you can culture your own with rotting vegetable matter.

My son was 10 years old when he started. He was very successful and accumulated more fry than he knew what to do with them...he gave them to his grandparents, aunt, uncles and cousins. He now has one of my 100 gallon and working on a new project...angelfish. Baby steps...MFKer in the making :)

Okay I have free swimmers this morning. The male is still grabbing them and putting them back. I'll separate. Good luck to your son on his angelfish project :)

Oh wow- you have some nice fish!

Yep, you only want the male and the eggs in the tank. Get the others out- carefully - try not to stir up the water too much. The male might lose sight of the eggs if they scatter.
