I got a ton of fish stuff from some guy, and included was a bowl.. I would say it's about a gallon and a half. I looks like the typical fish bowl, but larger.

I know it's cruel to keep fish in small confines, but I was wondering how 1 betta would do in this?

With keeping a plant on the top, and having him placed in my living room.

What do you all suggest?

I have never owned a betta, so I thought I would see how well I do.

Plant? Like those ugly vases with pothos in them?
A ten or even a five gallon with a small filter and a small heater will make a good home for a betta. They are much more active in warm water as opposed to unheated bowls.

Yes, but it's a bowl. haha.

I have a flat reptile tank heater that I can slip under the bowl so that it stays warm.

I don't want any fish tanks up stairs anymore, as all my fish are now in my basement, which is a fish room. So, I would have to have fish items up stairs and down stairs-- where as with a little bowl I would only need to have food out majority of the time.
