I bought a 'female betta splenden' on thursday because it was the most colourful i've ever seen but with a bit of research i think it's actually a betta imbellis! My betta has a black snouted head and the rest of it is a really nice irredescent blue.It has a long bottom fin and a very small red 'fin' before it.Sorry no pics ='[[ Might a but a 13 MP cam for only £99.99 =DAny help on ID would be helpful!

Post up some pics:) It's probably not B. Imbellis, but it may be a Short-Fin Male. Just look underneath it. If you see a white spot (egg spot) right behind the pelvic fins, then it's a female.

i have a friend here in dorset who sells betta's on the internet, voted number1 in the south, he has had wild betta's a few months ago. if you would like i could mail you his website,,,did you check the link i sent
