He should pick them up and put them back. He might get frustrated and eat the eggs though. I've found putting a spacer on the surface like sliding a peice of plastic or gall along the entire top of the water helps as the other side will not cause tention on the nest.
the male actually squeezes her until they eggs come out. They are fertalized at that time. the eggs are going to sink and they will both share the duty of bringing them to the surface until the female is exhausted. The male will get pissed cuz she wont put out and chase her off. At that time it's daddy that keeps putting them up in the nest until they hatch and start swimming out of the nest. He gets pissed and starts eating them because they wont behave. Typical father.
