Betta off brine shrimp

I cannot get my betta to eat if I do not feed him brine shrimp he woulnt touch any pellets. I've had him for about a week and fed him brine shrimp twice and he gobbles them up. I tried not feeding him and trying pellets but he leaves them to rot.

Do not feed him anything for 3 to 4 days and then try pellets...

Actually try 2 weeks without food. He will probably not even flinch at only a day or two. I've starved my Berta for over a month without food. He was only very slightly skinny. Could have gone another month easy.
