I kidnapped this fish :-I with extensive fin rot. he's about 3 yrs old.
It's past the point for a salt cure. mid-tail is gone up to where it meets his body.
I said I would try to cure him, IF they will do proper water changes afterwards.

I got some (supposedly) penicillin tablets from the LFS, but they are loose with no label. so I'm not sure how many mg they are. nor do I have proper directions: no, I wouldn't joke about this. A former employee stole some tabs & took the label.
The tablets are stamped:
E
84

Would penicillin be stamped with an "E"?

Online fish penicillin says tabs are usually 250 mg.? Assuming these are that dose, how much to give for his 2 gallon bowl?
The lady told me the same dose for "a betta bowl", regardless of size! :duh: (dissolve 1/2 tablet in 1 cup water and stir good, put 1 teaspoon in betta bowl)

The other antibiotic I could get is Erythromycin in it's pkg.

A Betta site said best meds for advanced fin rot is ampicillin + tetracycline. But this is all I could get.

EDIT: husband brought home some Tetracycline, so I have that too.

ANY SUGGESTIONS?
