I tried a while ago to breed a pair of bettas with no success. Now after a few weeks of preping them the time has come again this time with some success. The male has wrapt himself around the female and tried squeezing her about two times, he keeps trying though. Is this normal for him to be unsuccessful the first few trys? The female has extremely promenant stripes and the white tube is also visable. Anyone know if it takes a few trys for the male to get the eggs out? Im a little worried, this is my first go around at this ^-^

My mom had a pair that spawned. The process took a long time. When the male finely succeeds in squeezing the eggs out of the female. Don't be surprised to see the female float up to the top unconscious. When she wakes up she will help the male pick up the eggs and blow them into the bubble nest.
Good luck and keep an eye on them. Because the male can kill the female when they are finished. How lucky you are to have a ringside seat!
