I have had my male Betta for a couple months now and id like to get more, but since there aggression i was wondering how many i could put in a 10 gal tank divided? Could i divide the 10 gal only once? or more? definitely wanna keep it comfortable so not too small for each Betta.

me personally, i would say at most 3 sections

Do you think 3 males? 2 males and a female? or what combo?

Well, I met this guy while I was working one day who told me he had 5 betta males in one 10 gallon with no dividers and he never had any problems. My only theory to this was that he purposely picked out males that seemed less aggressive (most likely veil-tailed) and then let them loose. We once had a shipment of "female" bettas come in that had about 6 males mixed (short fin, typically more aggressive) in and was put into a 15 gallon. Needless to say, it didn't work out too well, so dividers imo are a must and 3 would prob be about right

definitely im always wanting to give them the most room possible but at the same time id like to have more then one. So divide into 3 separate parts with an air stone and a filter should be much better then one of those little non filtered Betta bowls.

Well bettas and other fish in that family (gouramis, etc.) are mainly in that family because of their labyrinth, which is an organ that allows them to gulp air from the surface. This is why bettas are so well equipped in smaller spaces. Most research and info show that bettas do better with less spacious aquariums and little to no water current so more bubbles aren't always a good thing. But that aside, you could divide your 10 gallon into 5 sections and still be plenty of space, probably even more than that if you really wanted to.

Ive noticed that my male i have is much happier in a 10 from when he was in my small 1/2gal. my sister put her male Betta in my 55 while i wait for my filter part and i guess hes happier in there then the bowl he was in. Also a lot of people on here say bettas usually live longer with a filter. Weather thats true or not i still dont think its right to keep them in such small spaces. Ill just go with the ten gal divided into 3 parts, with a filter.
