I do, i feed green water, egg yolk and micro worms (thought they are to small to eat the micro worms for a few days)

for the egg yolk you have to be careful it can foul the water quick, what i do is boil an egg break open the yolk once cooled mash a tiny bit of it up with water from the tank, strain it threw a shrimp net so you only get fine particles ..feed a tiny drop with an eye dropper or something similar, its full of protein and fats that are good for fry...mine took it almost immediately. do a water change with in an hour of feeding the yolk and suck any left overs out.


green water is easy get a jar of water and a hand full of lawn clippings..set in a window with plastic wrap over it..open it and let it breathe every few days, after about a week you can shine a light in to the jar if you see clouds of "sparkling" looking things THAT is what you feed the fish, it should form cloudy is looking clumps in the water that shimmer when you shine light on it eye dropper some out and add to fry tank..free cheap easy micro food..once they out grow that they will take the micro worms

Thanks got a couple bettas last week to start a lil betta project and both pairs have spawned already.

What is that stuff, Live things or just gooey veggie matter? never heard of this before.
it must be different than algae.
?

Yea i use the egg slurry for my MARBLE GOBY fry. Think the lfs has the green water so i should be good may wait for the next batch though as i wasnt finnish setting up for the project. Didnt expect these things to breed this fast.

They are called Infusoria.
" a dense bloom of free-floating single-cell algae. Many of these so-called algae are in fact species of Euglæna ("you-GLEEN-a"), a genus of photosynthesizing single-cell protists, and its close relations."
