as a 13 year old i dont have much money
but i would like to improve my filter system
what is a good filter i could add to my tank to make it better
or some other advice would also be good:)

DIY top filter. Just need a strong powerhead or a real pond pump. You can find cheap pond pumps in used decorative fountains at thrift stores and yard sales. The rest is just hose, bucket, pads and biomedia of any sort you'd like from legos to hard plastic beads.

Ac110! Cheap and great filter for the price, buying a strong gph pump for the top filter idea is great to but the price of the pump plus meadi/supply would come out to be around the same price. Shouldn't be to hard to save up $100, just don't eat lunch and save up that money! :D

hook up asponge filter to asmall powerhead, something like 200 gallons an hour, that will boost any filtration system by a lot

Never get into koi keeping/join a koi keeping forum and ask that question, can open, worms everywhere.

When I setup my fourth tank next door at a neighbors I advised a small canister, worked out about £40, add some media that was mature and seeded from my pond of all things, two years later still no problems.
