I have a pack of 5 CL's in my tank. Right now I have a rock pile they enjoy seeking refuge in but i don't like the amount of gravel space it takes up in the tank. Besides that I am worried about it scratching the CL's scaleless bodies.

Any ideas for a more efficient, compact, and aesthetically pleasing hiding place?

the right shaped piece of driftwood can be very nice addition to a tank and provide a good hiding place.

everytime im in a store with driftwood i take all the pieces out and place them on the ground and see what kinda hiding places they provide.

just a thought on some of the plastic decorations u can buy. beware if they have holes into the hollow inside that are accessible. i had a fake driftwood piece and the clown loaches went in and i feared they might get stuck since some spots got pretty tight. ended up having to saw the thing open with a hack saw to get them out. just my 2 cents.

also. which im sure uve noticed already. u dont need that big of hiding place for refuge. im amazed at the size of space my 4 cl can fit into.

How big are they? My dad has six 5-6"clown loaches and they hide in the driftwood when they get tired.
