which would be a better tankmate/tankmates a tiginirus or some endli birchirs?need something to clean up the bottom of the tank? I would like to have both but how do birchirs grow compared to pbass? That's why I am worried

what size are your pbass ?.....my endli grew very fast (from 6 to 12 " in 4 months) . also consider that the bass is an aggressive eater unlike tigrinus. ....

The birchir might be better but I think either or should be fine.

The opposite is actually true. If I had to pick one, it would be the tigrinus based on the simple fact that they are more aggressive eaters. Bichers are passive by nature and rarely attack food, so getting substantial amounts of food to the bottom, especially in a tankful of cichla, is quite a chore. My big tig, on the other hand, will swim right to the top and pound shrimp til his belly bulges.

Depends on how much you want to spend.
My tig is a way more aggressive eater then my bichirs but he won't venture out of his area to get food. Even though I don't see how aggressiveness has anything to do with the feedings.
Your bass will grab food till they are full. You'll see there is no worrying necessary.

Ummm....how big is the tank?

Right now the pbass are still small so they are in a 55g once they hit about the 6-7" mark I'll move them into a 125g then havnt decided on what size of monster tank to get after that so for now a 125g is when i'll get the birchir/tig.

And for the bass the biggest one is about 5-6" and about to get moved into the 125g and the smallest is about 3-4" and I'm keeping the two smallest in the 55g to plump 'em up.

So I might get a tig for the 125g and a few endlies for the 55g. For the birchirs what should be the size difference so the bass don't eat the birchirs?
