If I had to guess I would say one on the left is male, one on right is female. But to a point they also both look about the same to me. One on the left seems a little longer bodied, but that's about it. They are both great looking fish though! Should be some beauties when they get a bit more size on em. Good luck!

they both definitely look like females, both have lots of blue on their gill plates and barely any body coloring. males will show much more iridescent coloring on their bodies and have nice designs within the unpaired fins (some females may have this as well but its mainly on males)

thanks for the quick response. i have 4 gts in the tank and am hoping to get a pair out of em. the two in the pictures came from house of tropicals and always hang out together and are much darker in color and a little larger than the other two which come from petsmart which i much lighter in color. the two larger and darker ones are the only ones ive seen lip locking at times it seems pretty intense and at other times their gently rubbing against eachother. there both between 3.5 and 4 in. do you guys think ive got a pair?

the green is slowly starting to appear in the scales in the upper part of their body towards the head and is slowly moving to the tail

Both pictured are too dark to say 100% male IMO. If I had to take a guess I'd say both female because of body coloration and the amount of coloration on the gill plate.

At this size if you had a male, you'd know it as it would stand out.

damn, wish i could get pics of the other two

ok heres a picture of one of the other gts, lighter in color with more spangling in the fins. couldnt get a picture of the other one but it pretty much looks the same but a little bit more beat up in the fins from the cons in the tank with babies

going from the green in its body its probably male, could you maybe try taking a video, sometimes i can get fish to show up clearer in a video than in pictures
