Better pics of my Mayans

Just a couple of pics for an under appreciated Cichlid. I bought these as a breeding pair from Rapps. The first pic is the male and the second pic is the female.

I hope mine turns out that nice. Do you know any way to sex them other than venting?

Thanks for the positive comments. The only way I know to tell them apart is that the male tends to be a bit bigger than the female and during breeding the male has a more vibrant red color with the female getting some greenish blue on its flanks. I hope this helps.

Nice mayan they are underrated i had one a few years ago and he had nice deep red fin a sweet lookin fish i believe.
