For my natives, I'm aiming to have a 75 gallon tank. I have one for my angels, and I really like the dimensions. I might not be able to get one though so I've got a question.

Should I go 40 breeder or 55 gallon? The 40 breeder is shorter but wider, and the 55 gallon is longer but narrower. Again, this is in the event I can't get a 75.

It depends on what the length of your fish will be and how many you get; I would get a 75 instead of a 40 and put structure in as a divider, plus the extra room in height, can be used by dithers as extra breathing space

I have a 40 now im using as a nano reef, and its ok for that with low stocking, a 55 would be ok for some species, but if you can get a 75 it would be so much better. Thats one of my favorite tanks besides my 210.

Sounds like a great project, im sure you will enjoy every minute of it. Keep us updated :)

I fish a state lake where they stocked green sunfish and p-seeds, that makes a different looking hybrid indeed, i only go there because they also stocked mosquito fish, and you can get a hundred to scoop right at the bank, great live food for my gar and bowfin.
