Hi, I need to feed my puffer fishes. Amazon puffers and figure8 puffers, someone offered me 100 posthorn for 30 USD and he also said that if I want faster breeding of snails tower shell snails breed faster than posthorns. the price is the same. which one would be good? would puffers be able to eat either of them?

thanks.

I've never heard of either one, but...30 cents per snail? Considering your intended purpose for them, that's about 29.9 cents per snail more than I would be willing to pay for them. Personally, I would have gotten the snail-breeding going before actually getting the puffers, but whatever...snails are available usually for free for the common "pest" species, and they are considered pests because they breed like mad. It's still going to require a significant tank volume devoted to this project to be able to produce enough snails to use them as much more than just an occasional treat for multiple puffers.

Edited to add: when you say "posthorns" are you referring to "ramshorns"? And are "tower shells" by any chance Malaysian Trumpet snails?

Both of the 2 species you mentioned I use for my pea puffers, same goes for bladder snails as well. All 3 will breed insanely fast given enough food and space. A small 10g should be all that ya need, no filter or heater really needed as long as regular water changes happen. Personally tho since OP here is trying to feed Amazon's and a figure 8 I would recommend the trumpet snails since they have a much harder shell then the other 2 species mentioned, helps to wear their teeth down a bit more then the weaker shelled snails do.
