Precision Clarity is located near Atlanta, GA. They sell to the public by phone and internet, and also sell on ebay under the name Aquarium-maker. Do not do business with them!

8/11/05 - ordered custom 750 gallon tank with lids, stand, canopy, pumps, lights, and wet/dry, cost $8500.00 from Michael Coutts, the owner. Tank to be constructed with 1.25" thick acrylic.

1/14/06 After 5 months of delays, excuses, lies, problems etc that are far too lengthy to explain, I finally have everything in house that I ordered, but the tank was built mostly out of 1" material. I agree to keep the tank at a drastically reduced price $5250.00. He no longer has a merchant account to issue any refunds, so I have to chargeback the original purchase amount, and then pay the new lower price by Paypal. I can't beleive I agreed to this.

1/21/06 I hire a local company to set everything up for me for $1000.00. They are very reputable and handle installs for a number of local restaurants, bars, etc... When they show up and see the tank, they inform me that the tank is so poorly constructed that they will not set it up due to liability concerns. Attached are a number of pics of the tank showing all of the flaws. They told me that they did not think the tank would last 2 weeks, and that it is one of the most poorly constructed ones they have seen in 15 years!

Now I have to dispute the Paypal charges. I am sick of this guy and his company!

whoa, is that half plywood or what. It's does look very poorly built :swear:

I'm sorry for the headaches you have to endure over this. I'm also glad for the heads up. I was just about to send them $ for a custom 9ft x 3ft tank. I think I'd rather burn the money than have to go through this pain in the butt situation.

Sorry to hear . At least you found out about this before you filled it up. I hope you get your money back.

I am glad I saved you the headaches. If the offer was anything like mine, then it is too good to be true.

All glass. Notice the saw marks? You're not supposed to cut acrylic with circular blades beacuse you can't glue them properly. I counted over 90 of these on the top and bottom seams, and most of them extend through the entire seam. They almost form a tunnel for the water to seep through.

OMG

get ur money back

That sucks, yuo popped the cash for your dream tank and got robbed like that I hope you get your money back

If you are in the So Cal area and want superb custom tanks, call Advanced Aqua at 310-538-4282 and ask for Allan. I have over 16 aquariums ranging from 100 to 500 gallons, and they are perfectly made and less expensive than most custom manufacturers. I don't think they ship, but you could probably arrange it....
