BGK being aggresive with eel

My BGK is fighting with my fire eel over use of a cave in my 180. I have a ghost house in the tank, but the BGK refuses to use it and would rather try to push the eel out of a cave my eel has used since day one.

The eel and BGK sometimes get pretty rough, there are nip marks on the eel and the eel sometimes grabs the BGK and shoves it out of the cave.

Any ideas of how I can stop the fighting and get the BGK (or eel) into the ghost house? Should I take the cave they are fighting over out of the tank entirely and put new shelters in?:confused:
 
Move current cave and add additional hiding spots. My BGK chills out under a piece of driftwood and chases the bichirs when they poke around in there.
 
Yeah change the hiding spots around....if the cave is more secure/bigger, try to make a couple like that. They probably won't kill one another - one will give in and leave the other alone and take a different cave.
 
Move hidingspots and add more caves to the tank. I suggest moving the hidingspots during water changes. Keep us updated.
 
My BGK would never use the 'ghost house' tube. Give it a new 'cave' to hide in and you should see a change. The only time my BGK is agressive at all is about his 'cave'. Give him one of his own and things should be good.
 
Ditto, move the current cave and add another. Take the ghost house out, it's worthless.
 
Update:

I moved the cave to the other side of the tank, added a piece of driftwood, and broke up the line of sight a bit between the two. The knife seems satisfied with it's new driftwood "home" and there doesn't seem to be anymore aggression.

Also, I can now see the BGK during the day because of how the driftwood is placed, which is cool because before I only saw it before during fights with the eel or at night.

Mines seem to tear the bottom fins of the silver aro but u think it's because he can't see? Soon he will be food though lol
