Hello,
first of all ..I have been treating with levamisole hydrochloride on my 3 fish tanks (55, 29, 28 gals.) and everyone seems to be responding well to treatments. Its been about 2 months now and I believe I will be all done with treatments after 2 more. Anyway, my black ghost knife is not doing so hot. He does not have any of the medication in his tank (whereas my others are being treated currently) because I was afraid to treat him. He is breathing heavy and has not been crapping or eating. I used the epsom salt (about 1/2 teaspoon) for a day and he did have some mucousy crap. Now the salt is out of the water and hes still breathing heavy and swimming around slowly and sometimes vertically (which is odd for him) and barely is using his PVC pipe hideout. The waterchanges I do are ridiculously often, and I know the water chemistry is NOT the problem, nor is temperature, etc. normal stuff. I do believe the rotting dead worms may have caused a bacterial infection in his intestinal tract, which is a common occurrance after the nematode has been killed. I want this fish to live, he is 11'' long and my favorite! Any suggestions to help with his infection...would be greatly appreciated. thanks for taking the time to read my long message.
