i have a 15cm (approx 6") BGK call Moo who i absolutely love to bits. he is currently in a tank with a few other fish, mostly smallish (such as medium to large tetras (phantoms, bleeding hearts, blind caves), some danios (that i think he is eating) some loaches (which i also think he is eating) and some dwarf cichlids). i have found an elephant nose at my local pet store who is absolutely goregeous. i really want to get him (he is about 10 cm (4 ") at the moment) but i am unsure how well he would go with Moo. i am aware that elephant noses need sandy substrate (is a mix of sand and 3-4 mm gravel ok?), and plenty of hiding places, as well as they eat at night. with all these issues taken care of, and the temperature/ pH being right (about 26 celcius (80 farenheit) and somewhere between 6.8 and 7.2... is this ok?), the only real issue i have is with hte compatibility.
is there someone who can tell me whether or not these two fish (at their current sizes) would go together? Moo is pretty relaxed and leaves most of hte fish alone (other than the occasional missing danio).

i am also planning on replacing my angel fish (which recently died), and as i know they can be slightly tempermental, would they cause any fuss to an elephant nose, (which are very timid by comparison)?

i know this post is slightly more about elephant noses, but i am new to this forum, and got a little... lost.
any help would be really appreciated
thanks again,
rommy

um, 150-160 L (dont know how many gallons that is) but it is an odd shape, so there is heaps of ground space

40g-42g tank. Just provide lots of hiding spots. It should be fine. Both BGK and Elephant Nose are electric fish and the BGK may see it as competition, so just keep an eye on it. As for the Angels, it should be fine as well. I've seen a few tanks with Elephant Noses and Angels together. The BGK will eventually need a bigger tank in the future, but they are slow growers.

Thanks for that, it is really helpful... i just have a few things i wanted to adjust before i move hte elephant nose in, but hopefully all will be good now =D
thanks again
