I notice that alot of people only feed their BGK's bloodworms. Is that really good enough for a diet? Don't they need meatier foods as well? I thought they did. What all do you feed yours? As well as feeding the frozen bloodworms, I am using the Hikari sinking carnivore pellets, frozen brine shrimp, silversides, and the occasional algae tablet.

bloodworms, glass worms, krill, mysis shrimp, shrimp pellets, tubifex... I never thought of algae pellets. Aren't they suppose to be carnivores? I will have to try sinking Cichlid pellets though.
Mine is only a baby at 3" but he eats Bloodworm, Mysis Shrimp, Daphnia, chopped Krill and Hikari carnivore pellets. He also likes Nutrafin Max sinking tabs with earthworm in them, nibbles on his Plec pals cucumber, corgette etc but go's totally mad for Hikari Micro Wafers! He's started hand feeding too.
yeah about a year ago I was told that they do appreciate the occasional algae tab and they do seem to. Maybe once a week.
Mine have always loved it. Let me know if yours does! Makes sense since all carnivores get some vegetable matter out of their prey lol.
