I like to vary the foods for my BGK and was thinking about giving him raw shimp.

Anyone tried it - any special type of shrimp I should get?

Comments and suggestion for other foods are very welcome.
I currently give him a wide variety of frozen foods - Hikari blood worms is his favorite - followed closely by the sinking pellets I try to feed my Cory Cats.

He also does his best to catch any flake food that makes down to him - but the Buenos Tetras and Danios are pretty fast. It is funny to watch him trying to catch some of it when them flying around.

Thanks,

tubifex worms, any market shrimp will do or ghost shrimp, sometimes they like to hunt so i put some wild guppies there.

When I had my BGK housed with my discus he loved pinching the discus's Beef heart mix. In the end I had to remove him to another tank as the discus were not fast enough to get any food. No matter how much I would put in the tank or how often I would feed thinking that the BGK would get full and stop he just kept eating. The expression eat like a pig, well that should be changed to eat like a BGK where beef heart and my fish in concerned. He also loves brine shrimp, blood worms, black worms etc.

Cheers

mine finally just started eating something other than frozen bloodworms. still won't eat pellets, but eats market shrimp and turkey
