I need to know how to feed my BGK, i tried feeding him small small earth worms (1 inch long stretched to its maximum) by hanging it, jut throwing it in, and placing it infront of the hiding place.
I had to move him to a 30 gallon tank because he was being picked on by the featherfin.
before i moved him he just nibbled on the uneaten food on the bottem, whn i bught him he was healthy with no scars, i figured i set up a new aquarium and leave him alone cause now all his fins are torn up, Help please.

Black Ghost Knife Fish...

I found that my BGk i use to have grew the fastest when on bloodworms.
His fins should heal quickly as long as the water is clean and it isn't damaged all the way up to the body.
How big is his/her hiding spot? try putting more hiding spots. PVC tubes work well for a BGK and as long as the featherfin is too fat to get into the tube, it should be all good.
You can get a separate tank for the BGK, but i would try putting more hiding spots first

The featherfin is actually smaller than the BGK (nick-named Ghosty) but he is extremely agressive when Ghosty get close to his peice of driftwood, he constantly rams him even when he retreat into his hiding spot (I put old ceramic cups in and ghosty seems to like it better than tubes) and even chases him right out of the cups! Ghosty stops the ramming by swimming backwards, somehow the featherfin gets confused and retreats back to its driftwood right when Ghosty swims backwards. I have bought a new filter today and gotten him a tank. There goes some of my savings.

well then good luck!
have you tried a tank divider?

to the feeding part of the question i would feed blood worms.if he is in a tank solo i would drop a frozen cube infront of his cave but if still in the main tank i would thaw them and dump them into the tank with every light off in the room/tank.

He started feeding on dried blood worms, I hung a glass cup infront of his hiding place and floated blood worms into the cup, he swam in and started eating. God what a relief.
